Castaway at Teal House Learchild

Thursday 25 January 2018 by Lydia Achard

We are over half way through the new build of our third and flagship holiday cottage, Teal House Learchild. The weather has been kind and we eagerly await the launch in the spring. Learchild has four double en-suite bedrooms, separate boot and utility room and a huge open plan kitchen and sitting room with vaulted ceiling and private walled garden, overlooking the wild and unspoilt landscape of the Cheviot’s and the stream that runs below.

This new build will retain all the character of an ancient stone-built lodge with the added feature of timber elements, combining to create a cosy cottage characteristic of Northumberland country. Furnishings will be of the finest quality, crisp white linens, sumptuous throws and plumped pillows. Solid oak floors, wood burning stove, floor to ceiling glazing and underfloor heating will ensure the toastiest of toes.

Our resident pheasants and sheep provide the most entertainment in the tranquil garden, only rivalled by the sight of shy deer playing in the stream behind the shady oak tree.

The ambience of a cosy evening spent with a glass of wine (or brandy), sitting by the roaring fire, after a day’s exploring the hills and beaches of this extraordinarily beautiful and secluded place are something that we know our guests will take with them forever. Scroll down to see the plans and please get in touch with any enquiries.
